DEMOCRATIC TRENDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION Introduction The purpose of education in a democratic society is to instil the values of cooperation, fairness and justice into the hearts of students. The values are essential to maintaining and improving a functioning democracy in a country. Democracy aims essentially to preserve and promote the dignity and fundamental rights of the individual, to achieve social justice, foster the economic and social development of the community etc. Democratic education is an educational ideal in which democracy is both a goal and a method of instruction. It brings democratic values to education and can include self-determination within a community of equals, as well as such values as justice, respect and trust. Why democracy is so important? NSS TRAINING COLLEGE ICT WORKSHOP Information and Communication Technology(ICT) is an extended-term for information technology which stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunication, computers as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage, and audio-visual systems, which enable users to access, store, transmit and manipulate information.ICT in education means, Teaching and learning with ICT. worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods. As a part of our M. Ed curriculum, we the student of NSSTC, attended a five day ICT workshop on behalf of Dr.Sajan, Assistant professor, NSSTC Ottapalam on 19/08/2019 to 26/08/2019. Non-probability sampling from Shefeenakm Non-Probability Sampling Sampling is the use of a subset of the population to represent the whole population or to inform about (social) processes that are meaningful beyond the particular cases, individuals or sites studied. Probability sampling, or random sampling , is a sampling technique in which the probability of getting any particular sample may be calculated. Non-probability sampling does not meet this criterion and, as any methodological decision, should adjust to the research question that one envisages answering. Non-probability sampling techniques are not intended to be used to infer from the sample to the general population in statistical terms.
